September 2010 saw the return of Sue Booth, this time to demonstrate tuck stitch.
She began with the rudiments:
showing us which stitches tuck [blanks] and which do not [holes]

then went on to remind us about pushing the rubber wheels into position on the Brother machines.

Then we were treated to a proficient demonstration of various techniques related to tuck. She used card 1 to demonstrate basic tuck and variations:

and then went on to shadow knitting, multi coloured tuck, plating, tuck lace, scallops and braids.
These are some of the samples we saw being knitted – all in all quite stimulating, and to top it off, she challenged us to play with knitting with some of these techniques on a variety of punch cards! That should keep us busy until our next meeting in November, when we show each other what we have been knitting throughout the year.
