Tuck and Slip presented by club members
This was a very busy session, with about twice our usual membership attending!
We started with an overview of how stitches are formed in tuck and slip, then went on to demonstrations:
basic tuck stitch
plated tuck
scarves using needles out of work to create special effects with tuck
basic slip stitch
‘brick’ stitch as in the recent scarf pattern in Machine Knitting Monthly March edition
using slip stitch to automatically ‘hold’ needles for Pat’s corkscrew scarf [see patterns section] and a zigzag scarf along similar lines.
We were so busy we forgot to take photos, but it was a very productive session!
This month’s pattern is a pair of leg warmers made using plated tuck stitch:
