March 11th 2013
For the third month in succession, the snow tried to put us off, but it was business as usual at Long Buckby!
The theme was Open Work, and there were different kinds of lace on view.
Pat started us off with the latest news:

which culminated in a preview of our GMK challenge entry [top secret – therefore not shown!]
Then we were off to a flying start, with Fran demonstrating how to use the Brother lace carriage, both for normal and fine lace:

[The picture shows Fran setting up, with many members still getting their teas.]
Then Pat showed us how to knit tuck lace, and then how to use the lace carriage on the Knitmaster.
And I attempted to show how to knit punch lace on the Knitmaster – not entirely successfully, but luckily I had one I had done earlier to show:

And then I demonstrated a hand manipulated lace, the instructions for which are in a Kindle book costing 80p called
Ruby Lace Technique Machine Knitting ePattern All Machines click on the title for a link to it.
The pattern for March was a tuck lace scarf:
And finally we had a yarn sale
